This piston french horn with an Eb crook is stamped “F. Jaubert & Co. – Lyon & Healy. Sole Agents. Chicago”
Lyon & Healy were in business in Chicago from 1864-1940. They began manufacturing their own instruments in 1885, but were known for selling mail-order instruments and European imports.
By 1880, Lyon and Healy were the sole agents of “F. Jaubert & Co.” instruments and were selling them in the United States. These were mid-level quality instruments imported from France.
