Scholarship Levels

The George Mason University Athletic Bands offers several different scholarship levels to students, based upon the student's availability. Each level requires a different amount of time and performing commitment to the band. Amounts listed are annual and renewable, based upon satisfactory participation in the Athletic Bands.

Scholarships are constantly under review by the Director of Athletic Bands, and may be removed at any time, if necessary.

 

  • Gold ($2,000)
    • Midnight Madness
    • Fall Open House
    • Spring Open House
    • 3 football games
    • 10 women's basketball games
    • 8 men's basketball games
    • 5 other events (pep rallies, Admissions events, charity events, etc.)
    • Available for all tournaments, no exceptions (conflicts with this requirement will be addressed on a case-by-case basis)
  • White ($1,500)
    • Midnight Madness
    • Fall Open House
    • Spring Open House
    • 3 football games
    • 8 women's basketball games
    • 6 men's basketball games
    • 5 other events (pep rallies, Admissions events, charity events, etc.)
    • Available for all tournaments, no exceptions (conflicts with this requirement will be addressed on a case-by-case basis)
  • Green ($1,000)
    • Midnight Madness
    • Fall Open House
    • Spring Open House
    • 3 football games
    • 6 women's basketball games
    • 4 men's basketball games
    • 4 other events (pep rallies, Admissions events, charity events, etc.)
    • Available for all tournaments, no exceptions (conflicts with this requirement will be addressed on a case-by-case basis)
  • Black ($500)
    • Midnight Madness
    • Fall Open House
    • Spring Open House
    • 2 football games
    • 5 women's basketball games
    • 3 men's basketball games
    • 3 other events (pep rallies, Admissions events, charity events, etc.)
    • Available for all tournaments, no exceptions (conflicts with this requirement will be addressed on a case-by-case basis)

In addition, each scholarship student is required to actively participate on one operations crew in the following areas:

  • Book / Library
  • Communications
  • Equipment
  • Jersey / Uniform
  • Packing
