ABOUT THE LINE

WHO ARE WE?
This talented and dynamic group will energize and entertain thousands of fans at all home basketball events and various campus activities. "The Mean Green" will also act as a musical ambassador for the university throughout the community by promoting the values of teamwork and school spirit. "The Mean Green" is on the cutting edge of marching percussion and sports entertainment using only the finest products from Pearl Drums, Vic Firth Sticks, Evans Drumheads and Zildjian Cymbals.

WHO CAN JOIN?
You don't have to be a music major to participate! Auditions are open to all GMU students as well as other local college students. A strong rudimental drumming background (3-5 years) and a dynamic performance style is highly recommended. An open mind, a great attitude and a high level of commitment are also outstanding qualities to bring with you for the audition process.

*Extremely talented and mature high school juniors and seniors are also encouraged to audition with the permission of their director. Specific application details are available through the Pep Band office.

WILL IT BE FUN?
Now's your chance to become a part of a new tradition at George Mason University. Thundering basses, spotless snares, awesome tenors and sparkling cymbals will make up one of the most exciting things to storm the Patriot Center since the raising of the 2006 Final Four banner. Catch the beat and feel the vibe! In addition to performing for thousands of screaming fans at home games, "The Mean Green" will also perform in exhibition at select indoor drumline competitions during the Atlantic Indoor Association 2008 season. Plans are also being made to field a competitive ensemble for the 2009 Winter Guard International World Championships. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity!
