Drumline "The Mean Green"

This talented and dynamic group energizes and entertains thousands of fans at home basketball events and various campus activities. The Mean Green also acts as a musical ambassador for the university throughout the community by promoting the values of teamwork and school spirit. The Mean Green is on the cutting edge of marching percussion and sports entertainment using only the finest products from Pearl Drums, Vic Firth Sticks, Evans Drumheads and Sabian Cymbals.

You don't have to be a music major to participate in The Mean Green! Auditions are open to all Mason students as well as other local college students. A strong rudimental drumming back-ground (3-5 years) and a dynamic performance style is highly recommended. An open mind, a great attitude and a high level of commitment are also outstanding qualities to bring with you for the audition process. Extremely talented and mature high school juniors and seniors are also encouraged to audition with the permission of their director.

This popular organization provides a musical opportunity for all Mason students to participate in promoting school spirit and morale. Many scholarships are available to students, regardless of major. In addition to performing for thousands of screaming fans at home games, The Mean Green Mason Drumline competes locally and nationally in the Atlantic Indoor Association and Winter Guard International circuits.
